About
Looking for grants for your nonprofit?
Come learn how to use Candid’s Foundation Directory Online (FDO) at San Francisco Public Library.
90% of foundations don't have websites! FDO is the most comprehensive prospect research tool for fundraisers, with over 140,000 grantmaker profiles.
A representative from Candid will be onsite from 10 am to 12 noon every second Wednesday in the 5th floor computer lab at the main branch of SFPL.
Starting promptly at 10 am, we will provide a 40-minute overview of how to look for grants using FDO, as well as Candid’s other services. You can spend the remainder of the time exploring the directory, while our representative remains available to answer individual questions about how to construct your search to best find potential funders.
This class is for nonprofit organizations looking for funding. It is not geared to individuals seeking grants. We recommend you view our free one-hour webinar, Introduction to Finding Grants, before attending.
Space is limited! You can bring your own laptop, if you wish.
NOTE: You can access Foundation Directory Online any time at the main branch of San Francisco Public Library, either on the library's public computers or on your own computer via WiFi. SFPL is a member of Candid's Funding Information Network, a consortium of partners that provide local nonprofit communities with access to Foundation Center funding databases, nonprofit trainings, and the opportunity to connect with like-minded social sector professionals.
