About Bonnie J. Monte

Bonnie J. Monte entered her 30th season as the Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey in 2020. Under her three decades of leadership the institution has evolved into one of the most respected classical theatres in the nation. Ms. Monte has garnered national recognition for her highly successful revitalization of the organization and for her commitment to arts education; during her tenure, The Shakespeare Theatre has become one of the leading training grounds for emerging young theatre professionals.

Since 1990, she has directed over 75 productions for The Shakespeare Theatre, including acclaimed stagings of numerous Shakespeare plays, as well as a number of works from the Russian classic canon with a focus on Chekov and Ostrovsky. Her special affinity for Tennessee Williams resulted in highly acclaimed productions of A Streetcar Named Desire, Camino Real and Sweet Bird of Youth. She has also directed shows for the Theatre's Shakespeare LIVE! touring company including The Myths of Ancient Greece: Old Echoes, New Ears, which she also authored. She has created a number of original translations/adaptations for the Main Stage including Pride and Prejudice, Marivaux's The Triumph of Love, Pirandello's Enrico IV, Ostrovsky's Artists and Admirers, Maeterlinck's The Blue Bird, Around the World in Eighty Days, Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters (published by Playscripts, Inc.), and Molnár's The Guardsman, published in London in 2019 by Josef Weinberger, LTD.

Ms. Monte obtained a post-graduate conservatory degree in directing from The Hartman Conservatory and a B.A. in theatre from Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. She has Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees from Drew University and the College of Saint Elizabeth. Prior to assuming leadership of The Shakespeare Theatre, Ms. Monte was one of the casting directors at the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York City, and before that, she spent almost a decade at The Williamstown Theatre Festival working closely with Nikos Psacharopoulos as his Associate Artistic Director. She is originally from Stamford, Connecticut. 

About Elysa Marden

Elysa Marden is the Vice President for Arts & Events at Brookfield Properties, where she oversees the free arts, culinary, wellness, and lifestyle programming in the public spaces of Brookfield properties for the Northeast. She leads Arts Brookfield, a 32 year old arts program which presents unique free artistic experiences in unexpected places. Brookfield’s Arts & Events initiative creates 100+ annual events at Brookfield Place New York. Highlights include the New Sounds Live/WNYC concerts, Lowdown Hudson Music Festival headlining Common and OK GO, Monica Bill Barnes: As Days Go By,  Luminaries by the Lab at Rockwell Group, and multiple commissions with Third Rail Projects.  Currently running: Theatre For One: Here We Are, Food For Thought, commissioned artwork by Ashley Longshore and La Vaughn Belle, and Studio BFPL, which is a new small-scale performance program for empty retail spaces.   

About Jarvis Green

Jarvis Antonio Green moved to the Upper Valley of Vermont/NH in 2011 from New York City and founded BarnArts Center for the Arts in Barnard, VT. He is the Founding Producing Artistic Director of JAG Productions and the former Director of Theatre Arts at ArtisTree Community Arts Center right outside of beautiful Woodstock, VT. Jarvis received his training at the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, Anderson University and South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts.  Directing credits include: Choir Boy, Fences, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill  (JAG Productions), Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Fiddler on the Roof (ArtisTree Theatre Company), The 39 Steps, Master Class, Porgy and Bess in Concert, Oliver!, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors (BarnArts Center for the Arts), Suessical the Musical (NCCT). He has also had an extensive career on the stage including My Heart is the Drum (World Premiere), Once On This Island, The Who’s Tommy (Village Theatre), Twelfth Night (RAW Shakespeare Company), Our Town, Clybourne Park, Twelve Angry Men (Northern Stage), The Wizard of Oz, Pirates of Penzance (Pentangle Arts), Ragtime (New London Barn Playhouse), Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, A Chorus Line, La Cage Aux Folles, A New Brain (Capital Playhouse), Smokey Joe’s Café (Bellevue Civic Theatre), The Buddy Holly Story (5th Ave Theatre), Stardust (Harlequin Playhouse), The Play’s The Thing, Black Nativity, Our Town (Intiman Theatre).
