Youth Philanthropy is a movement, and the movement is growing. Every year all over the world, youth invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in their communities. They are empowering themselves and finding support through youth grantmaking programs that strengthen their independence, leadership development, and decision-making power. This year, Foundation Center developed a new online gathering place for this movement, YouthGiving.org, where anyone interested in youth grantmaking can access comprehensive funding data, learn about innovative practices, and connect with others.

Join Foundation Center West as we explore this new online hub and highlight the work of the Philanthropy Initiative, a unique youth grantmaking program at Lick-Wilmerding High School, in San Francisco. Learn how local philanthropists and inspiring Bay Area youth grantmakers grapple with questions about social justice, equity, and ethics as it pertains to giving. Hear from the youth and leaders themselves as they discuss this innovative model and how it is altering the landscape of philanthropy for the better.
