About

Candid is proud to provide live, online trainings that speak to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) for nonprofits. If you were unable to participate in this webinar, you can access the webinar recording here. You might also want to check our eBooks collection on DEI.

Now is the chance for you and your team to get the tools, skills, and knowledge needed to advance disability inclusion in your work. This session will give you and your team step-by-step guidance, as well as provide resources and contacts, so you’re better positioned to actively incorporate disability inclusion in different aspects of your work.

As a participant, you will get an overview of who makes up the more than 60 million people who live with some form of physical, cognitive, sensory, mental health, or other disability in the United States. Gain a basic understanding of how disability intersects with multiple content areas, from employment and poverty to criminal justice reform and education. You also will receive 10 key tips on how you can welcome, respect, and include people with disabilities in your important work.

Given the importance of having people with lived disability experience and expertise involved in decisions, there will also be a special focus on how to recruit, include, and succeed with people with disabilities on your staff and board.

Upon completion of this live, online training, you should be able to:

  • Describe the range of people who live with some form of disability in the United States.
  • Discuss how disability intersects with multiple content areas.
  • Create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive workplace environment for people with disabilities
  • Support recruitment and inclusion practices for people with disabilities on your staff and board

*Follow-up resources and a transcribed recording will be sent to all registrants of this webinar within a week of the webinar.
