About
The Creative Work Fund awards grants of $15,000-$45,000 for artists to create new works through collaborations with nonprofit organizations of all kinds. It is available to artists and nonprofits in the 11-county greater San Francisco Bay Area.
In each application, an artist and a nonprofit apply as a team, describing their idea and why they want to work together. Steps to apply include registering on the Creative Work Fund website, preparing and submitting a letter of inquiry by December 6, 2019, and –if invited –submitting a full proposal in spring 2020. As these grants are competitive, applicants are wise to learn about the program’s purpose, tips for presenting a strong letter of inquiry, and appropriate timing for their projects.
This discussion of Creative Work Fund basics will be followed by a panel discussion among previous grantees about how to master the art of collaboration. Register here to attend the panel, too.
Both events are free but pre-registration is strongly recommended for both.
NOTE: An elevator accessible entrance to Intersection for the Arts is at 41 Fell Street, through Mr. Tipples.
