About

Want to get up to grant speed in a hurry? Then join AFP, Lakeland, and Candid for an intensive day-long program that will teach you how to put a proposal together, submit it, and (maybe!) get a real $500 grant for the organization of your choice.

In the morning, experts from Candid.org will teach you —or you and a team of your coworkers—the basics of grant proposal development. You’ll then receive submission guidelines, and will be given time to use what you learned to assemble a two-page LOI to submit to our team of on-site grants experts from the world of local nonprofits and foundations. (NOTE: ONLY THE FIRST 40 LOIs submitted will be considered).

After lunch and a review of the relationship-building side of the grants process, the top 4 submissions as selected by the reviewers will be asked to give a 5-minute pitch. The winner of the $500 grant will then be selected by a poll of those in the audience.

This is sure to be an exciting, educational, and raucous day!—we hope you’ll be able to join us!
