Are you a nonprofit professional ready to turn your social sector experience into a consulting career? Do you already consult, but need support building a business strategy to grow your income and connections? The Nonprofit Consultant Cohort is an innovative 4-month training program that provides specialized and practical business development to jump start or boost your nonprofit consulting business. Learn from seasoned consultants how to turn your passion for service into a profitable career. Bringing a laptop is encouraged.

Participants will:

  • Network and utilize collaborative opportunities with established and startup nonprofit organizations
  • Learn how to leverage strengths and existing resources to enhance growth and qualitative potency of services offered
  • Strengthen internal effectiveness through learning how to sell your skills and further your knowledge
  • Gain a deeper understanding into who their target customer is and how to usher clients into nonprofit effectiveness
  • Increase knowledge of data and outcomes, and achieve an understanding of how it fits into being a consultant

Sessions:

  • Session 1: Establish your client criteria and issue area
  • Session 2: Develop a marketing strategy for generating clients
  • Session 3: Determine fee structure, and criteria for pro bono services
  • Session 4: Create a business plan and presentation
