About

Nonprofit board members no longer have the option of saying, “I don’t raise funds.” This workshop provides tools to both incentivize board members and to help them become more comfortable with the fundraising process. It provides an ideal opportunity for nonprofit staffers to attend with their board members. Topics covered include: who should and should not be on the board, what policies and structures need to be in place to facilitate fundraising, how to achieve a state of grantseeking readiness, and how to develop an action plan to move toward a fully engaged board.  Specific attention is paid to the various unique roles board members can and should play vis-a-vis an organization’s prospects, donors, and staff.

Judith Margolin is an independent consultant, facilitator, workshop and webinar leader on foundations and grants.  She served as Vice President for Planning and Evaluation at the Foundation Center, the nation’s leading authority on philanthropy, for a number of years. She has devoted her career to philanthropy and is dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations secure the funding they require to fulfill their valuable missions. She is the author of several books, including The Individual’s Guide to Grants and Financing a College Education
