About
Presented in partnership with the Nonprofit Finance Fund
An organization’s financial story provides the context, goals, and intentions that cannot be conveyed in numbers alone. It is a valuable tool for helping other stakeholders understand the financial situation of the organization and making a call to action – whether it’s for funding, partnership, growth, or change.
This year, all nonprofits will be implementing changes to how their financials are presented in audits due to updates issued by the Federal Accounting Standards Board (FASB). These FASB updates provide an opportunity for nonprofits to convey their financial story and communicate important financial management strategies.
In this session we will explore:
- the key steps to identifying and articulating your organization’s financial story
- the major FASB updates and how they affect financial storytelling
