About Robyn Cutler

Robyn was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. Following graduation from Kent State in 1982, she moved to Atlanta where she worked for NBC selling advertising.  It was there she met her husband, David.  They relocated to Akron in 1996 to raise a family.

Motivated by her own background and personal connection to running, she began the Summit County Girls on the Run Council in 2007 with only 12 participants at one location. This spring they had over 1,200 girls participating across 6 different counties. She is passionate about the mission of Girls on the Run and believes that every girl is inherently full of power and potential.

In addition to serving as Executive Director for Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio, she enjoys volunteering, giving back to the community and spending time with her family and two dogs.

About David Holmes (he/him)

Dave Holmes is an Educational Programming Manager at Candid, coordinating national trainings and the training and educational programming for the Midwest region. He returned to the Foundation Center (now Candid) in 2015 from a position as Senior Consultant at Grants Plus, writing grants and doing research for a variety of large and small nonprofit clients. In his initial nine-year tenure with Foundation Center, Dave served in various roles including Regional Training Specialist, Interim Director of Foundation Center – Cleveland, and Director of Capacity and Leadership Development.

Earlier in his career, Dave served as a Program Officer for the Stocker Foundation in Lorain, Ohio, and as the Director of Grants and Prospect Research at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio. He has served on numerous local boards, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Cleveland Chapter;  Joel's Place for Children; and Upcycle Parts Shop. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA from Villanova University, and an MLIS from Kent State University.

About Joy Johnson

Joy Johnson is the Associate Director of Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc.  In this role, Joy is responsible for the oversight of programming and administration for the agency.  This includes human resources management, accounting support, and guidance and direction for BBC’s programming staff.

A graduate of Jane Addams Business Careers High School in Cleveland, Joy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Administration Degree and Certificate of Non Profit Management from Cleveland State University.  She is a graduate of Cleveland Bridge Builders class of 2015 through the Cleveland Leadership Center, and serves on several community boards and committees including the CLC Leadership Council and the E. 128^th St Block Club.  She lives in the Buckeye-Shaker Square neighborhood of Cleveland with her 13 year old daughter, Kendall.

About Tom O'Brien

Tom is the Program Director with Neighborhood Connections, a community building/organizing and small grants program affiliated with the Cleveland Foundation. He has been with Neighborhood Connections since 2007.  Prior to directing Neighborhood Connections, Tom worked as a community organizer, teacher, coach, and with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest.
