About David Holmes (he/him)

Dave Holmes is an Educational Programming Manager at Candid, coordinating national trainings and the training and educational programming for the Midwest region. He returned to the Foundation Center (now Candid) in 2015 from a position as Senior Consultant at Grants Plus, writing grants and doing research for a variety of large and small nonprofit clients. In his initial nine-year tenure with Foundation Center, Dave served in various roles including Regional Training Specialist, Interim Director of Foundation Center – Cleveland, and Director of Capacity and Leadership Development.

Earlier in his career, Dave served as a Program Officer for the Stocker Foundation in Lorain, Ohio, and as the Director of Grants and Prospect Research at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio. He has served on numerous local boards, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Cleveland Chapter;  Joel's Place for Children; and Upcycle Parts Shop. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA from Villanova University, and an MLIS from Kent State University.

About Katherine Readey

Katherine Readey lives in the Gordon Square neighborhood on Cleveland’s west side and works as a Product Owner at , a human capital management software company in downtown Cleveland.  She is a 2004 graduate of the Weatherhead MBA program and has worked in Product Management roles at OEConnection (software company in Richfield, OH) and American Greetings.  Before attending Weatherhead, Katherine taught middle and high school English at a private school in Connecticut.  Outside of work, Katherine is very engaged in the nonprofit sector.  She is a founding member of the Cleveland Colectivo, a local giving circle, and sits on the board of the Near West Family Network, a nonprofit that serves families on the near west side of Cleveland.  She is also a board member for Summer on the Cuyahoga, representing Oberlin College (class of ’96).  Katherine lives with her husband and three children.  When she’s not working or volunteering, Katherine enjoys spending time with family, training for her yearly triathalon, and visiting any of Cleveland’s craft breweries.

About Hilary Sparks-Roberts

Hilary Sparks-Roberts joined SVP as Director of Partner Engagement in 2011, became Deputy Director in 2013, and shifted to Executive Director in August 2014. A native Clevelander, Hilary loves the ways in which SVP strengthens the Greater Cleveland community one nonprofit at a time, meshing purpose with passion. She enjoys sharing SVP’s model of engaged philanthropy with fellow Clevelanders who want to do more than write a check or applaud others’ efforts from a distance. A graduate of Kenyon College and CWRU Law School,

Hilary first served as briefer to Governor Richard Celeste, and later as a mediator in the Cleveland Prosecutor’s Office, a Judicial Law Clerk to former Juvenile Court Judge Peter Sikora, and a freelance writer and editor for local arts and educational organizations. Prior to joining SVP Cleveland in 2011, Hilary taught AP and Honors English for 10 years at Lake Ridge Academy.

organization with a mission to discover, support and
