Candid’s mission is to get you the information you need to do good. In keeping with our mission and organizational values, Candid Learning is committed to making our information and resources accessible and inclusive so that everyone can do good with what we have to offer. As such, it is our commitment to make Candid Learning resources, programs, and website content available to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to ensure your experience with Candid Learning online content is a user-friendly one. With that goal in mind:
- The Candid Learning website is built using Skilljar, a platform that aims to meet WCAG 2.2 AA compliance and is committed to ongoing accessibility improvements. Learn more on Skilljar's page regarding the accessibility of the platform: skilljar.com/accessibility
- The Candid Learning website uses a high contrast color scheme to improve readability.
- For our live, online programs (e.g., webinars and workshops):
- We aim to ensure screen reader compatibility for all training handouts, but you can also contact us so that we can share a copy of the PowerPoint presentation and handouts ahead of time. To request a copy, please contact us at training@candid.org.
- We may be able to provide live captioning and/or transcripts for programs upon request. If you would like to request live communication access real-time translation (CART) captioning or other accommodations for a webinar, please send your request, including the name and date of the webinar, to training@candid.org. Please note, to ensure availability of live captioning services, please aim to submit your request two weeks prior to the program date.
Many of our learning resources can be accessed on-demand, on your schedule, and we have designed them with accessibility in mind. Here is an overview of steps we have taken to make our on-demand learning resources accessible, organized by content type:
- All videos in Candid Learning’s video library are hosted on Vimeo and contain captions, some of which are automatically generated by Vimeo. Our most popular videos include professionally generated captions by Rev.com, to improve captions’ accuracy.
- Vimeo’s player supports key accessibility features like screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and high-contrast visual design.
- All of Candid Learning’s self-paced courses afford you the flexibility to move through the course at your own pace, and all of these courses contain videos with closed captions and transcripts.
- All of the self-paced online courses that Candid offers to the public contain alt text for images.
- Our self-paced online courses have been built in Articulate Rise 360 using accessible elements. You can find more details in the Articulate Rise 360 VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template).
- Our self-paced online courses are hosted on Skilljar, a Learning Management System. For more details on how the Skilljar platform is designed with accessibility in mind, learn more on Skilljar's page regarding the accessibility of the platform: skilljar.com/accessibility and their ACR (Accessibility Conformance Report).
While we aim to make our learning content as accessible as possible, we recognize that this is a work in progress, and we are still improving. As a result, if you experience challenges accessing our content or programs, we want to hear from you. Please reach out to us at training@candid.org so we can address the issue and improve accessibility.
